Four musicians in the Washington, D.C., area with a common interest in Renaissance and traditional music established “La Rondinella” in 1987. The group performs regularly in the greater Washington area and in May 1994 made its European debut at the early music festival in Regensburg, Germany. They have been featured on National Public Radio’s “Millenium of Music.” Both concerts and recordings have been rewarded with fine critical acclaim.
Performing at the concert in Washington are mezzo-soprano Barbara Hollinshead; Paul Bensel, recorder; Carolyn Anderson Surrick, viola da gamba; and Howard Bass, lute.
