It’s that time of year when community members have the opportunity to strut their stuff on the Ki Theatre stage.
The Third Annual Open Theatre is. coming on Saturday, April 20 at 8 p.m. and this year will feature allRappahannockians. Open Theatre was initiated in 1994 by Julie Portman to give people of all ages and from all walks of life the chance to perform in short acts of their own choosing in theatre, music, dance, storytelling or some other unique blend of creativity.
Joyce Abell, director and producer of Open Theatre says, “This should be a really exciting program this year,” Jean Falk, who recently appeared at Ki \ Theatre in “The Neighbors,” will be performing the funny and touching monologue, “Twirler,” about an exbaton twirler who found God. When “Twirler” was first performed at the Fifth Annual Festival of New American Plays in Louisville, Kentucky, it was hailed as the crown jewel of that event.
At long last Mike Garcia, who has been keeping people in stitches for years at parties, will make his debut on stage as a stand-up comic. Who knows? This may be the beginning of
