Clarke County. Katy Paratore was hurt in the top of the first inning when she came up to bat and was unable to play after that. Two other regular starters were also unable to play, and Coach Payne said most of his ball club members were playing out of position to make up for the missing starters.
Kylene Wolfe pitched. She gave up 16 walks and 10 hits in five innings, but Coach Payne said, M1 was pleased with Kylene’s pitching per* formance. She was around the plate most of the time. Considering where she started at the beginning of the year, she did a good job. Clarke is probably the second best team in the district.”
He also has high praise for catcher Angie Atkins. "She’s handling the pitchers better and has gained confidence. She is one of the best catchers in the district. Her defense has helped keep us in games,” he said.
The Panther squad got four hits against Clarice County. Tiffany Keys, Margo Haynes, Emily Taylor and Courtney Welch hit safely.
