Well-known performers Tom Paxton, Paul Reisler (of Trapezoid) and Pat Pattison will appear at the Ki Theatre on Saturday, March 28 at 8 p.m. in what promises to be an extremely entertaining evening considering the line up of musical talent.
This distinguished trio has been involved in conducting a songcamp in the area. What may very well prove to be the fun half of the evening will follow the concert when the mike will be opened to the participants of the weekend songwriting retreat.
Reisler, whose admiration for Paxton goes back to his high school years, calls him a legend. “His songs were the first songs I learned on the guitar. He has written so many songs that you think are traditional songs that he has become part of our music consciousness,” Reisler said.
Paxton, a folk musician since the '1960s, has 32 albums to his credit and is the writer of the many familiar songs including: “The Last Thing on My Mind,” “Rambling Boy” and “Peace Will Come, and Let It Begin With Me.” His latest release, “For the Record,” demonstrates the enormous range of his songwriting from bawdy social commentaries to ones that touch the depths of human suffering and humanity in wartime.
