The Amissville community is proud of Lisa Gardner Currie, who was selected as the 1988 Young Career Woman for the Culpeper Business and Professional Women’s Organization. She was graduated from George Mason University where she received a bachelor’s degree in ■ English writing. Carl Mueller, formerly of Slate Mills, will be featured in the CBS Movie of the Week March 27. Mueller now makes his home in New York City. He frequently visits his mother and step-father, Sandra and Norman Cartwright-Brown, at their home in Slate Mills. Brownie Troop 929 celebrated the end of its cookie campaign for 1988. Starlet Jones, Jessie Gheen, Fran Ocverdorf and Amanda Brown were high salesman. The troop of 17 girls sold 1,500 boxes of cookies. Their profit of 35 cents a box raised a total of $525 for future activities.
