Twenty Rappahannock TSA students attended the Northern Region Contests held at North Stafford High School a week ago. They came back with 21 trophies.
Ian Blubaugh led the way for Rappahannock with a first place win in Technical Research and Report Writing and in Speaking Extemporaneously. In the writing category Blubaugh wrote on the topic “Construction Technology.”
“They give you a topic and you write a three page report on that topic. You have an hour to write it,” he said. “I wrote on construction and how it has changed over the year’s and how technological advances helped. I listed a few innovative designs used today, such as glass houses, houses built underground and house designed using technology not available 10 years ago. I also wrote about how we’re seeing more energy saving technology incorporated into construction designs due to advances in that field.” . Adam Rogers also placed in this category, taking third place.
