The Men’s Brotherhood group of Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church in Sperryville wanted to do something to help the Young family. They decided to team with some local cyclists to plan a benefit which would be a strenuous trip down the Skyline Drive on April 18 and 19. Their plan is to have a two day trip down the drive and raise support by either pledges related to the 105 mile ride or a single sum contribution.
Sam Dwyer and Bob Lucking, who hiked the Blue Ridge Parkway last summer, will join Warren Collins and his son, Willie: Jonathan and Chad Heddleston, who compete in mountain bike races, also plan to join the ride. These riders and others will be dropped off in Front Royal, camp along the drive and finish in Waynesboro.
Those wishing to contribute to this worthy cause can write checks to Steve and Melody Young and send them in care of Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church, P.O. Box 208, Sperryville, Va. 22740.
