Residents urged to get involved with
TFR campaign to clean up county
The program for a Trash Free Rappahannock has
begun. Colorful orange bags full of roadside
trash are beginning to appear along county roads as individuals and groups choose their roads. The deadline for the program, April 18, will be here before you know it.
The committee in charge of the program has a goal — 3,333 bags of trash to be picked up and turned in by the deadline. They are paying citizens $3 per bag of roadside trash that they pick up. However, $2 worth of every bag will go toward a designated cause of choice. They get to keep the other $1, or may donate it also.
We urge residents to get involved. It’s a great way to clean up the county, help out a worthy cause of your choice and get some exercise.
Get to a sign up site, sign up and help clean up the county — a win-win situation for all involved.

Remember to call Hunt Harris at the Ragged Mountain Resource Center, 987-3366, to come get the trash bags. Do not take them to the stores sites and do not contact VDOT yourself, Harris will do that since he must register the bags.
