A large crowd from surrounding areas attended the Singing and Pickin party at the Salem Fire Hall on Friday evening. Quite a number of musicians and singers were present and used their talents as they picked and sang old country songs and gospel hymns to a well filled house. An act that brought out much laughter occurred when “Pardin Dolly” as “she-he” appeared on the scene. Yes, as none other than 83 year old, Mr. Triplett, imitated “Dolly Parton”, with his singing, we knew he was good at that as well as banjo playing.
A great time of food, fun and fellowship was enjbyed by all present as they look forward to the next party on July 31. Thanks to the fire company for the use of their facilities and to Debbie Zinn for her labor of love to promote these enjoyable evenings.
In our birthday list to extend best wishes Amy Sawyer belated for yesterday, my niece Brenda G. Frazier and little Jacob Heflin, for today July 1. Sarah Lynn Hetzer of Our Farm adds another year on Thursday and Kelly Bragg on Friday. May
