property lines. Baumgardner’s plats list all present encroachments. The resolution grandfathers them into the record. The town does not plan to make anyone remove the encroachments. Future encroachments are not protected and will have to be considered on a case-bycase basis through special use permits for property lines and setbacks.
The survey has been on display in the town hall for several months. It will be maintained on record in the County Clerk’s office.
Gooch presented architectural drawings of the proposed town bulletin board and visitors welcome center. The council unanimously appropriated $3,000 to begin construction of the bulletin board.
The town will likely issue a competitive bid for the construction. Gooch hopes a town property owner will donate the land.
