Health programs scheduled

The Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board invites persons 60 years of age and older to participate in the following Health Promotion/Screening programs to be held at the Rappahannock Senior Nutrition Center:

Nov. 20 at 1 p.m., Outreach Wellness Coordinator, Karen Smith, program on Tai Chi, non-impact moves.

Nov. 30 at 12:15 p.m., blood pressure check by public health nurse.

Exhibition at Linden Vineyards

Sara Schneidman’s original paintings and prints are on view and for sale through the holidays at the Linden Vineyards. Jeanne Drevas’ wall quilts created from Hmong hill tribe fabrics collected in Thailand will be on view and for sale through Nov. 29. For more information call Linden Vineyards at 364-1997.

Fall auction and party set

The Child Care and Learning Center will be having their third annual fall auction and party on Nov. 14 from 7 to 10 p.m. Entrance fee of $10 includes drinks and hor d’oeuvres. There will be a tag sale, a silent auction, and a live auction during the evening. Live auction begins at 8 p.m. “Come join us for an elegant evening,” said an organizer.

Call for artists

The Middle Street Gallery is accepting original works in fine art and fine craft for its 1998 holiday show focusing on the art of gift giving. There will be no entry fee. For additional information call Nina Moore at 987-8953.

Flu shots scheduled

The following dates have been set for flu shots at the Rappahannock County Health Department: Tuesday, Nov. 17 from 9 to 11 a.m. and Friday, Nov. 20 from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Cost is $10 and shots will be given at the Rappahannock Health Department at 491-A Main Street in Washington. Crafters sought

Crafters are needed for the fifth annual Christmas craft bazaar at Sycamore Park Elementary School which will be held Nov. 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information call Linda at 825-8839.
