Stream flow data though, is not reassuring. A look at the Rappahannock flow downstream in Remington illustrates the results of last week’s rains, but shows a return to levels approaching only 10 percent of normal for the date.
Stream flow is, of course, some indication of ground water levels and saturation and, in this case, portrays a situation in which there is little reserve in the event of a return to reduced precipitation.
