cross-breed with another kind of snake because their chromosomes are different.
And Lorraine Espinola came up front and taught us all the song “Don’t Kill the Snakes”, which we enjoyed so at last week’s program.
Then it was time to bring out the python. Mr. Cromer explained that he had had it for 26 years, and it was so long that he would need about eight or ten people of the same height to hold it, because its brfck should be kept as level as possible. I think the python’s name was Russle. At any rate, that snake stretched from the center of the room to the hall door, and everyone who wasn’t holding it got to stroke it as they went out. The same volunteers put the python back in his chest, and the smaller cages back in the van, Mr. Cromer confided that he didn’t usually stay that long for a program, but that his audience was so great he couldn’t bear to cut it shorter.
For us, it was an all-time, all-time experience.
