C.«J. Miller Jr. of Washington was elected president of Rappahannock National Bank Tuesday at a meeting of the directors. He has been associated with this bank since 1925, was executive vice president and has served as cashier for the past 14 years. He fills the vacancy left by the recent death of Robert W. Miller of Woodville. Thomas Williams of Flint Hill was named vice president and George Miller of Woodville was named to the board of directors at Tuesday’s called meeting. On July 25, the famous Heinz Stuecke of Hovelhof, West Germany visited with the Rev. Charles Kindred of Amissville. Heinz Stuecke has recently completed a “Tour dumonde”, which involves a bicycle trip around the world. He started his trip on Aug. 22, 1960, from his home town in Western Germany. At the time of his arrival in Mexico on April 27, 1968, he had visited 72 countries in five continents. He had covered 43,750 miles on bicycle and 93,750 by ship, plane, trains and car. A 12 pound cabbage was featured in this issue and was grown by S.W. Riley of Amissville. The two little “cabbage heads” posing with the 12 pounder are Marc Streagle of Burton, S.C. and Michelle Newton of Round Lake Park, 111. Michelle has been visiting her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Riley and Marc has been visiting his grandmother, Mrs. Sarah Latham. Mrs. Lyle D. Sisk of Sperryville h$s been nominated*^ the ASCS
