It’s been some two years since Piedmont District Supervisor Pete Estes brought the idea for a federally-funded Shenandoah National Park “Gateway” project to the Board of Supervisors for approval.
It’s been more than a year since the Gateway Project meetings at the Sperryville Fire Hall reached conclusions, through exhaustive facilitation and survey processes, as to the nature of Sperryville improvements deemed desirable by local residents. And its been nearly a year since the Sperryville Gateway Project team put together the proposal that resulted in award of a $220,000 grant for Gateway improvements.
