The Board of Supervisors of Rappahannock County is accepting bids on the construction ofta baseball field, a softball field and grading pf a pacing area on property that it owns adjacent to the Rappahannock County Elementary ScfiOol bn Schoolhouse Road. The project is a reduced version of one proposed by the RappahannociCpourjty Public Schools earlier this year. Eliminated fnyn those plans are the field house, bleaches, dugouts, well, sanitary sewer, phone & electric„fpncing, parking lot stone & wheel stops, rock excavation, sand/clay mixture for infield, sod, mowing ♦•watering and surveying stakeout and testing. ■

Added to the plans are application of a prfcteitive layer of temporary winter mulch until sucl^^ime in spring of 2000 that permanent seeding ca«v-be, accomplished and additional soil preparation in the spring to accomplish that seeding.

The full scope of work may be describecT^s:v

Silt fence erosion control along bottom' of all slopes, stripping and stockpiling of 8" of topsbil^cutting and filling to the grades shown on ther.revised plan including taking the required borrow-^material from the area south and west of the site (ail-owned by Rappahannock County), fine grading of all subgrades to + or - 0.2', return of 8* topsoil f6 turf areas, temporary winter mulching of all distuned areas and permanent seeding and mulching of all disturbed areas in the Spring of 2000. The proposed parking lot would be left at subgrade. The “infields would nave a dirt surface. Rock excavation should it be encountered, will be paid for extra. Surveying, stakeout and testing to be provided by owner.

The terms of competitive sealed bidding^ 11-37 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended) shall apply. Bids are due to the County Administration Office, 290 Gay Street, Washington, VA 22747 no later than 11:00 AM, Monday, November 1 r^999.
