Local photographer Lisa Swaim claims that she is fortunate to have escaped with her life while investigating reports of a “Haunted Barn” in Amissville. According to Swaim, the ghoul picture above “leapt shrieking from the rafters and chased me for nearly a mile!” Fortunately Mrs. Swaim was able to dive into the back of a pickup truck being driven by one David P. Close, the owner of the barn. Mr. Close drove the badly shaken photographer to a local hospital where she is reportedly being treated for shock. Skeptics and believers are invited to explore the Haunted Barn for themselves from 7 until 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 29, 30 and 31. For additional details see the Rapp Briefs column of this newspaper. Local authorities will be on hand to assist in protecting the public.
