Education: Graduated from Culpeper High School and also several Law Enforcement and Narcotic Schools Community: Member of the Salem Volunteer Fire Department, held several offices and served in various capacities for the company over the years. Church: Member of Lael Baptist Church in Lignum interests: Fishing, hunting, volunteer fireman Most Interesting travel .inexperience: "Narcotics Task Force Conference in Gatlinburg, Tenn., meeting agents from all over the country and sharing information." Hardest/most important Job: "Hardest job was coming out of investigation to a desk job and the most important: caring for the needs of my employees." Accomplishments: "For 26 years I have been involved with the volunteer fire departments serving between Brandy Station and Salem. I have 14 years in Law Enforcement which has covered dispatching, jailer, court bailiff, road deputy, investigator and now Jail Administrator. I was a Deputy Sheriff in Culpeper Qounty for 13 years and for four of those years I was involved in the Blue Ridge Narcotics Task Force," said Lt. Shifflett. He was also an instructor under D.E.A. Narcotic Investigation and a field training officer. Lt. Shifflett was hired by the Rappahannock County Sheriff's Office in June 2000 and looks forward to the challenges that each new day holds.
