Bloodmobile coming
Start the New Year off by coming to the Washington Fire Hall on Jan. 4 between the hours of 3 and 7 p.m. to donate blood to the American Red Cross. During the holidays, the Red Cross faces critical shortages of blood. This would be an excellent chance for Rappahannock County residents to give the gift of life to those in need. The Bloodmobile is sponsored by the Family and Community Educators.
Women's Community Bible Study set
A Women's Community Bible Study meeting at the Amissville United Methodist Church will begin meeting weekly on Thursday, Jan. 11 at 9:30 a m. The study will be on Luke, using the Kay Arthur Study series. Nursery is provided. All women are welcome. For more information call K Adams at 937-4397.
Trout Unlimited to offer classes
The Northern Shenandoah Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited, is offering fly tying lessons at Warren County Middle School beginning Jan. 17 and continuing for six additional Wednesday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m.
There is no charge for the classes but all participants must either become members of the Northern Shenandoah Valley Chapter Trout Unlimited or make an equivalent donation to the conservation and education programs of the Chapter. The Chapter would prefer that class participants become active members. Membership for one year in Trout Unlimited and the Northern Shenandoah Valley Chapter is $35 for a family, $30 for an adult, $15 for a senior adult (age 62+) and $15 for a full time student.
Class members will need to furnish their own fly tying tools; tool selection will be discussed at the first class on Jan. 17. These tools will be needed for the class on Jan. 24. A few used, but perfectly serviceable, tool kits that contain all needed tools and some materials and hooks, will be available at greatly reduced cost or for use during classes.
Call Bud Brune at 675-3183 for registration no later than Jan. 9 or for more information.
