Maggie Atkins

Maggie Dessa Atkins, 98, of Linden died Monday, Dec. 11 at the Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Atkins was born in Rappahannock County on June 22, 1902, a daughter of the late Jake and Treva Clayter Atkins.
She married John Ather Atkins, who predeceased her on Oct. 17, 1966.
Mrs. Atkins was a member of the Beech Spring Baptist Church of Sperryville. She was a lifelong homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Pauline Atkins of Linden and Shirley Kirby of Front Royal; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
- Also surviving are two brothers, Roy Atkins and Joseph Atkins, both of Sperryville; two sisters, Mary Anna Jenkins of Washington and Lois Dodson of Front Royal.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two sons, three sisters and four brothers.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday, Dec. 15 at the Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Hoover Heflin and Rev. Jerry Young. Interment followed in the Atkins Family Cemetery at Linden.
Pallbearers were Robert ^tkins, David Kenney, Lindy Atkins, Ricky Atkins, Donnie Atkins and John Atkins. , Honorary pallbearers were f^oy Wyant, Jackie Andrews, Guy Clatterbuck Jr. and Woodrow Atkins,
Nelson Cave

Nelson Ray Cave, 70, of Stanley died on Wednesday, Dec. 6 in Stanley.
He was born on Jan. 20, 1930 in Page County and was a son of the late Elza Alfred and Lula Belle Breeden Cave.
Mr. Cave was a tree surgeon for N.G. Gilbert Corp.
He is survived by a sister, ■Effie Mae Ryder of Stanley and three brothers, Charles Roy Cave and William Edward Cave, both of Stanley and Glenn Leo Cave of Sperryville.
Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, Dec. 10 at Bradley Funeral Home by Pastor John K. Burke. Burial was in the Bethlehem Cemetery in Stanley.
