Winter Solstice at Hearthstone
Hearthstone School is hosting a Winter Solstice drumming and bonfire on Dec. 21 at dusk at the school. Please bring your own drums, blankets, and a yule log to add to the bonfire. Winter Band Concert set
The Rappahannock Elementary, Middle and High School bands will present their winter concert at the High School auditorium at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 21 (earlier performance canceled due to weather).
Special guest group, The Fredericksburg Renaissance Brass will open up the concert and will later accompany the Rappahannock Wind Ensemble with special selections. Everyone is invited to this free premier musical event.
Holiday extravaganza
The Middle Street Gallery is now exhibiting their 2000 holiday show. The exhibit focuses on the art of gift giving. You will find a wide variety of art and craft objects in all price ranges. Now is the best time to find affordable one-of-a-kind pieces of fine art. The show runs through the month of December.
Saturday at Blue Moon
Tom Principato will be performing at Blue Moon Cafe, just west of Sperryville on Saturday, Dec. 23. A Northern Virginia native, Principato plays a guitar-centric blend of blues, jazz and roots rock 'n roll. He's at his best on guitar instrumentals that display his distinctive six-string vocabulary and phraseology. Mark your calendar and plan to attend the Saturday performance.
