Mr. James Atkins later had a store there and it was torn down in the early 50's. The Post Office was moved to Schwartz's Store, now the Corner Store.
There were two small rooms and it was operated by Mrs. Edna Johnson and Mrs. Lula Sealock. Then it was moved between US 211 and the Old Hotel. Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Sealock continued there until the new one was built in the present location.
It has been a long way from the horse and Model A s to the present. The postage has increased, and will continue to increase with a one cent addition on Jan. 7.
