The other teenager is Richard P. Sitorius, 19, of Flint Hill. He is charged with felony destruction of property and trespassing.
Sitorius and Hart each have been released on $35,000 bond. Authorities said the arraignment for Sitorius is scheduled for Jan. 23; the court hearing for Hart is on Jan, 25 and is a juvenile proceeding since the alleged crime occurred when he was a juvenile. Alexander Hart is a student at Fauquier High School as well as Lord Fairfax Community College.
Lindy Hart, the mother of Alexander, was asked if she wished to make any comment about her son and his arrest. “I’d rather not make a comment at this time,” she said when contacted by telephone. Authorities said Mrs. Hart appeared “devastated” by her son’s arrest. Both mothers, they said, cried when their sons were arrested.
Charges in this case are pending against a third teenager, 18, from Rappahannock County. Authorities said this teenager, who has been arrested in connection with three unrelated cases, played a key role in the Montpelier investigation. They declined to identify him because charges are pending.
The arrests were announced Tuesday ih an interview‘conducted by the Rappahannock News with Sheriff Sherertz and First Sgt. Dana A. Crane, who headed the investigation for the Virginia State Police.
