Word had been received here of the passing of Mrs. Mary Gentriss Jenkins Childress who died at her home in DeLand, Fla. on Jan. 5. She was the daughter of the late Howard and Hellon Frazier Jenkins, who for many years resided here on the Oliver Durant farm. She is also the cousin of this writer.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Frazier and Christopher of Turkey Ridge Road and Mrs. Alvin Atkins of Sperryville were Sunday callers of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Swindler on General Longstreet Avenue in Culpeper.
In the afternoon Mrs. Frazier, Mrs. Atkins and Miss Brenda Frazier of Culpeper motored to Warrenton, dined at Country Cookin and later visited Mrs. Janet Peregory in Fauquier Hospital.
Other visitors of Mrs. Peregory were her husband Joe, children Joseph and Jennifer, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Peregory and Loren and Mr. and Mrs. Billy Peregory. Mrs. Jake Tharp and Mrs. Harvey Tharp visited Janet on Thursday.
