Castleton resident
James Harrison Hitt, 58, of Castleton died Sunday, Jan. 14 at Culpeper Regional Hospital.
He was bom May 31, 1942 in Castleton to the late Charles William Hitt and Sallie Lee Fincham Hitt.
Mr. Hitt attended Hope Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Shirley Hawkins Hitt of Castleton; two daughters, Lisa Ann Releford of Culpeper and Misty Lynn Hitt of Woodville and two sons, James Stewart Hitt of Castleton and Michael Alan Hitt of Amissville.
Additional survivors include three grandchildren; a brother Glenn Hitt of Castleton; three sisters, Dorothy Scott of Castleton, Ruby Woodard Gray of Vienna and Elizabeth Cline of Cape Coral, Fla. and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by a brother, Charles William Hitt Jr.
Funeral services will be < held on Thursday, Jan. 18 at 2 p.m. at Found & Sons in Culpeper with the Rev. Milton Switzer officiating.
Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens at Jeffersonton.
