The Virginia Consortium for Adequate Resources for Education (VA CAREs) will present information on the Virginia funding formula for public education including the inequities and omissions related to funding on Tuesday, January 23, 2001 at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of Rappahannock County High School. VA CAREs is a grassroots coalition of superintendents, school board members, legislators, supervisors, council members, parents, and interested citizens who are interested in supporting fair and equitable funding for Virginia’s students.

The Joint Legislative Auditing and Review Commission (JLARC) is studying the funding formula for public education in the Commonwealth of Virginia. JLARC hopes to present its findings to the General Assembly in the spring.

This is a rare and important opportunity to direct attention to the improvement of the funding formula in the Commonwealth.
