He was born the tenth child of the late Milton Mortimore Hawkins Sr. and Stplla Nicholsen Hawkins in

Recently he was a parttime security officer for Sectex Security at the E.P.A. site in Fnmt Royal.
In 1949 he helped organize the first Boy Scout Chapter in Washington and was the Scout Master for eight years. He was
rrinnnfain Viilror onrl an'avid mountain hiker and hc'hiked every trail from Dickey Ridge to Swift Run in the Shenandoah National Park along with his wife.
He was a World War II veteran with the 35th Infantry Division, which in 10 months battled across the Elbe River to within 4$ miles of Berlin.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Burke Hawkins; two sons, Ronald Davidson Hawkins of Prince William CoUnty and Stewart Willik Hawkins of Illinois; one grandson Ronald Davidson Hawkins of Pennsylvania; three' sisters, Bessie Brown of Front Royal, Ada Turner of Roanoke and Elise Boswell of Bowie, Md.; one brother, Earl HawWins of Luray and a number of nieces and nephews. ■ ‘ He was predeceased by foul* sisters and one brother.
