Being a significant amount of money it took the members 22 years to raise, but through those years strong bonds were established, that exist between their descendants today.
Within those 135 years four pastors have served the congregation, which is unusual.
“Rev. Horner and the men that followed him in the leading of Macedonia, Rev. T.T. Hedgeman, Rev. Thomas L. Proctor and Rev. James A. Price were visionaries. They and their followers were people that envisioned what God wanted to do and believed through Him they could make it a reality,” said Rev. Simpkins.
Aubrey Malphurs, in his book, Developing A Vision for Ministry describes a vision as, " a clear, challenging picture of the future of the ministry, as you believe that it can and must be."
Rev. Simpkins and the members of Macedonia open another chapter in the life and history of this church.
Rev. Simpkins said, "We believe the church exists to glorify God, build up one another, and to reach out in love to the world. We envision a community where the hurting, depressed, frustrated and confused can find love, acceptance, help, hope, forgiveness and guidance within our community.
We plan to build toward that vision around six core factors: exaltation, encouragement, equipping, edification, evangelism and expansion."
