Macedonia with lots of experience. He was Associate Minister of the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Alexandria from January 1991 to August 2000. He served in the following capacities: Director of the New Members Ministry; Worship Leader, Prison Ministry Speaker, Bible study teacher, Retreat Instructor and Family and Domestic Relations Ministry.

He was Assistant to the Pastor of the Ark of Love Baptist Church in Alexandria from 1989 to 1991.

From 1986 to 1988 he was the organizer and pastor of the Christian Missionary Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. and was Associate Minister of the First Baptist Church of Foxchase in Alexandria from 1982 to 1986.

He received an honorary Doctor of Divinity and the Master's of Divinity Degree in June 1999 from Wilbur Waters School of Religion and Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C.

In June 1997, he received a Bachelor's of Divinity Degree from the same seminary.

He was a 1983 graduate of Federal Law Enforcement Academy.

Upon graduation from McKinley Technical High School in 1973, he attended the University of Wyoming from August 1973 to June 1974.

He has been an employee of the Federal Government for 21 years.

Rev. Simpkins is married to the former Pamela D. McCrea. They have four children, Dawn, Amber, Daniel and Michael.
