Ann Kuhn, this story was on the front page of the paper for many weeks, which, with the substantial reward fund made possible by individual contributors, kept the pressure on the vandals and anyone who knew their identity and the focus on the investigation.
This public outcry at what happened, combined with the diligence and perseverance of Sheriff Larry Sherertz and. his investigative team, particularly Sergeant Connie Compton, assisted by Virginia State Police Sergeant Dana Crane, should carry the message to anyone who might be tempted to such acts in Rappahannock in the future-don't even think about it!
