This is especially important in Rappahannock where college, university and conference opportunities are not conveniently located. We are very proud that our staff is constantly striving to improve their skills for the benefit of our county’s children. “Lifelong Learning” is what we wish for our children, and it is what our staff practices.
• If you ordered Poinsettias from the RCES PTO you may pick them up at RCES on Friday, Dec. 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. or on Saturday, Dec. 8 from 8 a.m.-noon. Many thanks to all of you who supported this wonderful project.
• The Holiday Band Concert featuring students in grades 5-12 will be held in the RCHS auditorium at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13. This program is always a highlight of the holiday season. The public is invited to attend. On Friday, Dec. 14, the RCES PTO will meet at 7 p.m. Members will be treated to a Choral Program featuring RCES students following the short business meeting.
• The Christmas Drive for children in need at RCES is underway, thanks to the efforts of RCES Guidance Counselor Candy Lamma. There is a collection box in the main office for “new” school supplies, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and other toiletry items, gloves, caps, scarves, art supplies, and canned or boxed food items. The children of RCES are very special to us and we want to be sure that each of them has a wonderful holiday. If you know of a child who may need to be remembered, please contact Ms. Lamma at 987-8259.
