The sounds of Christmas will ring through the sanctuary of the Washington Baptist Church on Dec. 6, as the Rappahannock Chorus presents its annual winter concert. A resident of Rappahannock for the past 12 years, Gloria Harris is director of the Rappahannock Chorus and lives a life filled with music. Mrs. Harris is perfectly suited to hold the director s wand. She has a background rich in musical experience but more than that, she loves music with an intensity that's catching. At rehearsals, her singers exchange smiles with their director throughout the practice session, there's pleasure and enjoyment evident on every face. Nels Parson was the director for the Bicentennial year.
Girls scouts completed a hike where they were directed by Indian trail signs and found their lunch at the end. The hike was during an overnight camping trip Nov. 6 and 7 at the Holschuh's camp. The girls were from Troops 380 and 339.
In a photo, Washington Potter June Jordan was found rearranging a display of her bowls in preparation for Rush River's annual Christmas open house.
