More easements in
the Thornton Valley
Last week, the Virginia Outdoors Foundation recorded two more conservation easement donations.
The first protects 55 acres on the Thornton River owned by Mary Parrish.
A bit to the east on the Culpeper line, the second was granted by Anne Pallie and Jack Schore— about 60 acres of this tract is in Rappahannock County. Neither property may be subdivided.
Dog owners
reminded of tags
Rappahannock County dog owners need to obtain their dog licenses for 2003 no later than Jan. 31. They can be acquired at the Treasurer’s Office on Gay Street, which is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m on weekdays. For questions, call 675-5360.
Deadline for
appeals of
reassessments
County property owners with questions about their reassessments or who wish to appeal the new assessed value of their property have until Jan. 3 to call and set up an appointment to meet with the assessors. The number is 675-5373.
An appeal made after the Jan. 3 deadline will be taken up by the Board of Equalization which will convene early in 2003.
