The Panther athletic teams did very well in their games during the week before the holidays.
The Junior Panther Boys’ Basketball team picked up three wins on the week.
The team defeated Warrenton Middle School 4342, behind 26 points from Irving Smith. Shawn Porter chipped in with 12 points and seven rebounds while Carlos Flores had 12 rebounds for the team.
The team next defeated North, Fork 40-26 and Smith and Porter continued to lead the team in scoring with 21 and 10 points respectively.
The third win of the week came over Page County 43-42 as Chase Tupper picked up the offensive end of the game with 15 points. Shawn Porter chipped in with 11 points.
The defense of Daniel Rollins was a big key in the game as the Junior Panthers entered the break with a 5-1 record.
The team played at home on Dec. 30 against Signal 4 Knob at 4 p.m. Because of newspaper deadlines, the results will be in next week’s issue.
