Sketch Courtesy of Ed Barton OUT-OF-THE-ATTIC: The Meadows, a pre-Revolutionary War home nestled behind Main Street on 21 acres in Washington, was sketched back in the late 1920s by Darius Lyle Miller Jr., who wrote this note on this sketch to his sister, Mary Botts: “I thought of you and Dad when I drew this." The Meadows, one of the oldest homes in Washington dates back to 1750. The town’s first postmaster sorted mail there from 1804 to 1808. During the Civil War, it was used as a field hospital by the Union army. The historic home is owned Jay Ed Barton.
