Ms. Livingston will discuss her latest show, now at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York, and the book she authored, at the Ki Theatre’s first “Soup and Soul” event of the year on Jan. 18. The quilts— made from the 1920s to the 1990s by more than 40 African-American women from the small rural community of Gee’s Bend, Alabama—are outstanding examples of a great American art form and are now all highly-collectable.
