Norris has been coming ta the Washington post office since he was four months old.

“You fall in love with them,” said Mrs. Shepardson about the two puppies she has raised to be future guide dogs.

Norris is her second. The first was Patterson, a yellow lab, who the Shepardsons raised before he, too, went off to the training center.

“You cry a lot when they leave,” she said. “There is no getting around it. I thought it would be easier this time, but it isn’t.”

One consolation is that the Shepardsonr will receive reports * updating Norris’ progress over the next mont'is and they wall be invited to his gra luation.
