EMT course announced

The 110-hour Emergency Medical Technician course will be offered at the Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Company, beginning on Jan. 7 and continuing through May 13. Classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 10 p.m.

Persons competing the course and passing the state examination will be certified in Virginia as EMTs.

The enrollment fee is $20 per student, and textbook cost (Brady's Emergency Care) is approximately $60. Enrollees must have a current CPR card by Jan. 7. To register, call Ken Pullen at 675-3091.

Yoga for Osteoporosis

Yoga classes are forming at the Rappahannock Healing Arts Center. “Yoga for Osteoporosis” will begin on Monday, Jan. 6 and “Yoga for Stress Management” will begin on Saturday, Jan. 11. Both classes are from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Preregistration is required as class size is limited to eight students.

The cost is $80 for an eight-week session. Certified yoga and massage therapist, Barbara Elliott, will be teaching the classes. For more information, call 540-948-3936.

Baseball registration slated

The Rappahannock Athletic Association is holding early baseball registration on Saturday, Jan. 4 from 10 a.m. to noon at Payne's Auction Gallery on US 211 in Amissville. Sign up early to take advantage of the discount.
