Sheriff Larry Sherertz hosted a lunchtime gathering of supporters at the Country Cafe in Little Washington to announce his candidacy for reelection on Nov. 4.
Sherertz used the occasion of his formal announcement on April 9 to review the accomplishments of the Sheriff’s Office during his tenure, and to lay out some of the plans that he has for the coming years.
The sheriff said he has kept all of the promises that he made during his 1999 campaign, among which he said were: to provide a fulltime schools’ resource officer; to develop and implement a means to keep an eye on the county’s senior citizens; to form a citizen’s advisory committee; and to develop a “Crimesolvers” tip line.
“These are all up and working well,” Sherertz told his guests.
