Varsity softball
The varsity softball team picked up three wins on the week to improve its record to 9-1 overall and 4-0 in the Bull Run-District.
The Panthers jumped out to a lead against George Mason before the Mustangs began to rally. The Panthers ended a seventh inning Mason rally one run short as the Lady Panthers prevailed 8-7.
The team then hosted the Wildcats of Warren County, the only team to give them a loss this year, and revenge was sweet as the Lady Panthers defeated the Wildcats 4-0. Rachel Sharp allowed only two base runners, a fourth inning single and a seventh inning walk, to pick up the win.
The Panthers heated up a cold, windy evening in Berryville by racing by the Eagles 13-3. The Eagles were very cordial hosts as they committed seven errors and gave the Panthers batters 14 walks. A six-run fourth inning made the score 9-0 and Rachel Sharp struck out 15 Eagles to get the win.
JV softball
The JV softball team remained undefeated on the season with a record of 9-0 and 4-0 in the district.
The team picked up wins over Brentsville and Clarke County. Ihe JV baseball team dropped two games to Brentsville 15-5 and Clarke 8-6 as their record fell to 4-41 overall and 2-2 in the Bull Run District.
