Meeting of April 16
• At the regular April Planning Commission meeting, the commissioners considered and denied a Special Exception application by Eleanor Wharton for an additional family subdivision on her property in Castleton.
McCarthy pointed out that if this application were approved, it would be the sixth parcel divided from the original tract, and it would prevent further subdivisions by landowners other than Wharton.
• The Planning Commission also considered and approved a family apartment in the home of Geoffrey Gowen in the Flint Hill area.
• The commission also scheduled the Sperryvillearea hearing on the Comprehensive Plan for May 29 at the Sperryville Fire Hall (May 22 if the Fire Hall is not available). The final date and time will be announced in the Rappahannock News.
