Daily activities will include games and songs, hiking, dam-building in the Hazel River, catching and releasing wild animals, caring for flowers and trees, and producing a camp newspaper.
Our campers will explore the forests, meadows, rivers and ponds of the Singing Creek property and surrounding areas, including the Shenandoah National Park which is within walking distance.
The camp’s home base is on the Hazel River, two miles west of Route 231. Daily activities will focus on insects, snakes, amphibians, trees, gardens, water life and wild animals. Our theme for study this year is: Metamorphosis.
The day camp will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, June 30 to July 11, with one overnight campout. Tuition is $175 for the two weeks and there are scholarships available. For brochures and applications, call 6751088 or e-mail singingcreek@earthlink.net.
