Those of us who have known
and worked with Barbara Wayland in her 25 years at the Rappahannock News are experiencing a vast emptiness in our lives.
Barbara’s knowledge of the community was impressive; her understanding of the duty of a newspaper was equally notable. Her proficiency is evidenced by the numerous awards hanging on the walks in her office, but more than that, we all respected and admired her dedication, professionalism and open-door policy.
Barbara was a loyal friend of the highest principals and values, who quietly smiled and listened; who loved Rappahannock County, its people, her heritage; and who adored Tiffany and Billy.
