The trees, mostly dogwood and a few . beech, were planted on the Panorama road from Mrs. Swindler’s down to Sperryville, from Fletcher’s Mill into town, and from John Wayland’s on Route 211 into town.
People who live near these newly-planted trees and forsythia plants are requested to look out for them and give them a drink of water unless this bad dry spell breaks with about three days of rain.

Rappahannock fire fighters have been busy battling an outbreak of fires here and in neighboring Madison County over the past week. Newbill Miller worked desperately to beat out a fire in the dry grass on the Route 211 by-pass at Washington which resulted when a vehicle caught fire and was destroyed last Thursday.
