We have word that U S. Attorney General John Ashcroft has purchased 145 acres of land here in Boston and plans to build three houses on the property which belonged to Anthony Goddard.

Goddard is the owner of Quaint Acres, the original Quaintance Farm. Mr. Ashcroft didn't buy the home place itself but the land adjoining it.

The land is on the Culpeper side of Boston on Route 522, down the hill from the Boston post office on the left. The land borders on the Hazel River.

Some neighbors have seen Apache helicopters over the area and within a couple hours, an entourage of black SUVs comes to the property with Mr. Ashcroft. Welcome Mr. and Mrs. Ashcroft.

We also welcome to our neighboring area of Woodville Robert Chappel and his wife. Mr. Chappel is assuming duties on Tuesday as the new Superintendent of Rappahannock County Schools.

The home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Peregory was the setting for a small party Sunday afternoon honoring Robin Grigsby who had celebrated her birthday on Saturday.
