from Fredericksburg. It only takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes travel time, each way, from Castleton.
We ran into Castleton neighbors, the Dennis family, on the beach and spent some time chatting with them. They had been there for a few days of summer fun.
It seems to have something of interest for everyone. On my next trip, I hope to catch the boat ride that tours the point and harbor.
An interesting bit of history— Virginia Historical Marker No. 175-Z reads: “Rappahannock County, area 274 square miles, formed in 1833 from Culpeper and named for the Rappahannock River, headwaters of which are in this county. Conservation and Development Commission 1929."
