Summer art classes

The Oldway Art Center will sponsor summer studio classes for children ages five to nine on Wednesdays until Aug. 13 and for children ages 10 to 16 on Thursdays until Aug. 14 from 1 to 3 p.m. Persons 17 and older can attend on Fridays until Aug. 15 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The cost is $50 per session. Virginia Department of Veterans Affairs Claim Agent Walt Phillips will visit the Culpeper Office of the Virginia Employment Commission on Tuesday, July 29 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to assist military veterans with Federal Veterans Affairs forms. Shenandoah National Park 'continues its Field Seminar Series on Saturday, Aug. 9 with a daylong seminar about "Air Quality.” On some days poor air quality makes it difficult to enjoy the panoramic views of Skyline Drive. Park rangers and sciemtists will lead discussions and hands-on outdoor exploration, including a visit!to the park's air monitoring and data collection facility. The cost is $30.
