Peggy was an active horsewoman throughout her life. In her early years she purchased her first horse, Henry's Dream from Ginnie and Pappy Moss of Southern Pines. She and Henry’s Dream fox hunted and showed extensively and successfully. In addition to the Mosses, Mrs. Cone rode for the late Mrs. T. A. Randolph and Mrs. M.W. . Greenhalgh, among others.
Under her own name and that of Redpath Stables, she bred and raised thoroughbreds for the show ring and racetrack. Her mare, TowmaA, which she trained on the farm, raced 119 starts and was claimed twice. Mrs.
