Lone got tier back both tunes and later retired tier as a broodmare Other notable horses she raced included Hem O’ Plenty and Rugged Trail Mrs. Cone was well known for the Norwich (Jones) Terriers she bred Her first ck >g was acquired from the Lae Theo Randolph of Upperville. Mrs. Cone ms also active in the Norwich and Norfolk Temer Qub.
In 1952, Peggy Ewing married John D. Richardson. II of Fairfield Benyville. VA. He preceded her in death on November 1, 1983.
In 1964, Peggy took over The Colony Shop, a ladies clothing store owned and operated by her mother in Pinehurst, NC. She relocated the shop to her Virginia home w here it has since been in continuous operation. The Colony Shop sponsored fashion show s lo benefit the Clarke County Visiting Nursing Association and other channes. Mrs. Cone was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Berryville and was a founding member of the Clarke County Humane Foundation providing the county with a new animal shelter
In 1990 she married Robie Lloyd Cone of Toledo, Ohio. Mrs. Cone is survived by two daughters. Robin R Greenhalgh and Walker R Thomas of Berryville. VA, and four granddaughters.
