The Culpeper-MadisonRappahannock Farm Fair held July 5-13 was a success for the thirteen 4-H exhibitors from Rappahannock County.
The members of the Livestock Club have spent months feeding, working with and grooming their animals in preparation for the show. Responsibility, organizational skills, time management and financial management were evident during the fair.
Caroline Massie won reserve. Grand Champion Market Hog, Grand Champion Pen of Two, Junior Showmanship, Junior Scrapbook, Bam Display and Outstanding Swine Exhibitor. r
She placed second in her class in Beef Showmanship and in the market class. Caroline received two blue ribbons for her entries in the Home Ec Department.
Kevin Riedel received a fourth place for his 240 pound market hog and fifth in Senior Showmanship.
Adam Rhein placed first and second in his market hog classes. He also exhibited two meat goats. Timmy Jenkins placed first in the 230 pound market hog class. Amber Ferguson placed second in the 225 pound market hog class. Robert Falls placed 6th with his 225 pound hog and Samantha Falls placed second in Junior Showmanship.
Carly Day had Reserve Best of Breed in the Rabbit show. Anne Ashleigh Lamma, Laura, Megan and Sarah Wheatley and Devin and Carly Day all received many blue ribbons for their numerous entries in the Home Ec department.
